This data consists of polygons that spatially represent the coastal dredge material disposal (DMD) sites identified by Douglas County within the Coastal Resources Plan
The purpose of the dataset is to provide a cartographical representation of the DMD sites within the Coastal Resources Plan to better provide area specific information for proposed dredging projects within Douglas County.
These sites have been digitized aproximately from hand-drawn maps in the Coastal Comprehensive Plan, and the front counter General Overlay Atlas which is now out of date. The boundaries generally follow no specific map line, and are approximate. The Dredge Material Disposal Sites Inventory has been modified through the years. Sites have been eliminated or added, and site numbers have been transferred from former sites to more current sites. The 1994 Coastal Resources Plan was used as the final authority for the current listing. The Front Counter Overlay Atlas is not a current inventory.
